About the role:Develops products, materials, processes, or equipment for complex systems under limited supervision/guidance.Independently compiles, analyzes, and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products, processes, and materials. Your responsibilities include:Project Roles:Technical Engineer responsible for supporting new product development and sustaining activities relating to imaging products (60%)Develop, both internally and with external vendors, firmware-based imaging algorithms (40%) Responsibilities:Identify, develop and test image/video processing algorithms to display or enhance endoscopic real-time video streamsEvaluate design changes relating to imaging products for technical and safety efficacyIdentify, develop and evaluate optical systems for endoscopic useIdentify and act as Lead Engineer and Liaison with external design service consultantsProvide guidance for product design and testing that will comply with electrical safety standardsWork closely with Mechanical Engineers to develop opto-electromechanical design solutionsProvide electronic and system level troubleshooting of prototype devices to aid product developmentWork as a ??hands-on? Engineer in performing troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality or to assess existing technologiesIdentify and direct project activities and timeline to meet objectives in a timely manner and within budgetSolve complex problems and make sound design recommendationsDesign and implement test methods and equipment to support product developmentSummarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from complex test resultsPrepare complex reports and communicate results to technical communityConsistently generate innovative and unique solutions to market needs and submit idea disclosuresResponsible for engineering documentationWork cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on complex projects to ensure project successTrain and/or provide work direction to lower level engineers and techniciansSuccessfully completes complex engineering work in one or more of the following: technology development, product design and development, test of materials or products, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigation (animal and clinical studies), and report preparationDemonstrate PDP/TDP system knowledge through delivery of high quality and high impact deliverables What we??re looking for in you:Basic QualificationsBS in Engineering or related technical field; MS preferred5+ years of engineering work experience (medical device field preferred)Experience Requirements:Design of analog and digital electronics including PCB designWorking knowledge of image/video processingWorking knowledge of optical systems (illumination and imaging)Electronic troubleshooting, including use of standard measurement equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes)Familiar with IEC 60601 standardsSoftware/Programming: MATLAB, C++, Altium or OrCad, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Suite About usAs a global medical technology leader for more than 35 years, our mission at Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) is to transform lives through innovative medical solutions that improve the health of patients.
